In 1978 a Silicon Valley home cost about $100,000, or about the cost of a gigabyte of DRAM. Today, 40 years later, the average Silicon Valley home costs about $1 million and a gigabyte of DRAM costs about $7.

Unfortunately, I must say that it is very hard to find information on this subject. Sure, the prices are going down, just maybe not as impressively as you would like.
